What's it all about?
The Witham Twinning Association exists to foster and extend the links between families of Witham and its twin town of Waldbröl in Germany. It is run on a voluntary basis by anually elected committee members, supported by subscriptions, fund raising & social events. Membership is £12 per family or £6 for individuals. It has a quarterly newsletter and is independent of Witham Town Council. The Chair of Witham Twinning Association is Rodney Cullum.
Learn more about life in a foreign country, not by reading about it, but by visiting, meeting the people and staying with a family.
What happens on a Twinning visit?
We host and visit annually. The length of the visit is usually five days, with two of the days used to travel. One day free so that guests and hosts can spend time together, followed by a social evening. The remaining two days are spent on organised trips, visiting places or attractions in the host country.
So who can join the Twinning Association?
Anyone living in the Witham area is actively encouraged to join. They are also invited to attend open meetings and social events. Our current age range is 10 to 75+.
We are family orientated and a knowledge of the German language is not necessary.
